On 6 February, Plympton International College came alive with the sights and sounds of Lunar New Year as we welcomed the Year of the Snake. The event was a vibrant showcase of cultural traditions, featuring stunning performances, colourful decorations and a strong sense of community spirit. Students, teachers and families came together to embrace the celebrations, sharing in the joy and significance of this special occasion.
We were honoured to welcome an esteemed lineup of special guests, including Member for Badcoe, Ms Jayne Stinson MP, and Member for Morphett, Mr Stephen Patterson MP. Representatives from the Department for Education, including Mr Rod Nancarrow and Ms Narelle Slivak, also joined us, along with the Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China to Adelaide, Mr Li Dong, and his delegation. Mayor of West Torrens, Mr Michael Coxon, and Plympton International College’s Governing Council Chair, Ms Catherine Hughes, were also in attendance.
A heartfelt thank you to all who made this celebration so special – our students, staff, families and honoured guests. Your enthusiasm and participation truly brought the spirit of Lunar New Year to life. As we step into the Year of the Snake, may we continue to embrace its themes of wisdom, transformation and renewal in the months ahead!
